The County of Los Angeles Fire Department currently has two very special programs that help assist the public outside the normal fire and medical emergencies. These programs consist of the Safe Surrender program, which allows parents a way to safely and anonymously surrender an infant for adoption, without prosecution; and the Safe House program provides a temporary haven for any child or adult facing a potentially threatening situations and needs a safe place to go.
