On Monday, April 29, 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) held a flag ceremony at Fire Station 169, in the City of El Monte, in honor of Fire Captain Henry H. Flores who passed away on April 8, 2024.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of and share fond memories in tribute to Captain Flores was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs in the City of Diamond Bar where friends, colleagues, and community gathered to support the Flores family.

Prior to dedicating 23 years of service to the LACoFD, Fire Captain Flores was an Explorer and an auxiliary firefighter with West Covina Fire Department, then worked as a firefighter with the Palo Alto Fire Department for three years.

During the memorial service, LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone praised Captain Flores’ legacy sharing, “As we reflect on Henry’s life, we are reminded of his unwavering faith, selflessness, love of family, acts of courage, and unwavering dedication to the communities he served.” He was an honorable public servant who dedicated his life to serving his community, cherished and loved his family, lived life by faith, and had a passion for his hobbies and interests.

Captain Flores’ life-long memories and legacy is survived by his loving wife, Amy, three children – Jessica, Melissa, and Tylor, beloved mother, Victoria, siblings, and a host of family and friends.

He will always be remembered by his LACoFD family and countless others who knew him.
