All Heavy Equipment and Transportation resources are stationed at the Heavy Equipment Unit (HVEQ), Pacoima Facility.

THE EQUIPMENT IS STAFFED AND CONFIGURED AS A "DOZER TEAM" (DT). A DT IS COMPRISED OF:

• 3 personnel; Dozer Operator, Swamper, & Transportation Truck Driver
• 1 piece of equipment (i.e. dozer)
• 1 transport.

The DT’s call sign is reflective of the specific FW number assigned to the equipment (i.e. dozer one will make up Dozer Team 1 or DT1). One dozer team is staffed on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis and housed out of the Heavy Equipment Unit (LACHEO) at the Pacoima Facility. When necessary, additional dozer teams are staffed (put on standby) from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs during winter months and 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs during daylight savings/summer months. In the event of adverse weather conditions, additional and/or augmented 24 hour dozer team staffing may be implemented at the discretion of the Duty Chief.

WHEN THE UNIT IS IN A STANDBY MODE, THE DOZER TEAMS ARE STAGED AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

• Fire Station 64, San Dimas
