Firefighters Support National Childhood Obesity Awareness

top story

On September 18, the California Center for Public Health Advocacy (CCPHA) held a "Healthy Children Achieve More" rally in recognition of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Local firefighters from Fire Station 168 joined city leaders, and school administrators, parents and students of Willard F. Payne Elementary to host a parent nutrition workshop and student rally. Through the workshop, parents will learn how they can support their children and families to make healthier choices with food, snacks and beverages. At the rally, the kindergarten, first and second grade students received inspiration from the crew by leading the students into basic everyday exercises to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
