On September 27, City of Lynwood Mayor Jim Morton invited Fire Chief Daryl Osby, Assistant Chief Luke Claus and our fire personnel who serve their local community to attend the State of the City Address dinner and award presentation. The event brought together 200 local leaders, elected officials, clergy and members of the community. During the event, Morton spoke about the many valuable safety and survival programs the County of Los Angeles Fire Department has brought to the City, such as Community Emergency Response Training and "Hands Only CPR." Additionally, he shared with Osby that our firefighters from Fire Station 147 did a great job helping to build the local playground.
The night's activities were highlighted by a special presentation of the Eagle Award to the Fire Chief for his leadership and dedication to protect the lives and property of the families of the City of Lynwood. Morton concluded by thanking our Department for its unselfish commitment to the Lynwood community. |
