Los Angeles County Fire Department - Lifeguards - Who is an LACoFD Lifeguard

The Los Angeles County Alumni Association provides a forum for past and present lifeguards to renew old friendships, relate past experiences, and stay current with the changes in the procedures and personnel within the LA County Lifeguard Operations.

Once a year, typically in June, the Alumni Association has a summer luncheon. This event is always touted as a huge success. Attendees leave with a full stomach, new friendships, and even a commemorative t-shirt.

In order to join the Alumni Association, an applicant must have been either a Los Angeles County Ocean Lifeguard or employed before the 1974 merger as a:

Los Angeles City Beach Lifeguard
Santa Monica City Beach Lifeguard
Los Angeles County Beach Lifeguard
