Fire Captain Dave Inman was honored last week by the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce for his devotion to duty. Beginning his career in 1984 with the U.S. Forest Service, Inman has served LACoFD for over 18 years, working in Malibu, Antelope Valley, and for the past eight years in the Crescenta Valley area. He became a Fire Fighter Paramedic in 1995, a Fire Fighter Specialist in 2001, and now serves at Fire Station 63 in his role as Fire Captain. Inman’s well-rounded experience includes many significant emergencies and fires, most recently the Station Fire that so greatly affected La Crescenta and the surrounding foothill communities below the Angeles National Forest. Inman also worked during the Marek, Alameda, Buckweed, Edison, and Santiago Fires, among others. Notably, he remembers the civil unrest in Los Angeles in the early days of his firefighting career and his work during the Northridge Earthquake. Inman is well respected among his peers, appreciated by battalion chiefs for his dedication and acknowledged for assisting as the Battalion Training Officer. His dedication can also be seen in his devotion to his wonderful wife and two sons, ages 18 and 11. Pictured is Inman alongside Engine 63. (Story and photo by CSR Stephanie
