On Saturday, May 24, 2025, County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone joined Los Angeles County Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger at the 27th Annual Tribute to Veterans and Military Families event at Arcadia Park. This event paid tribute to the military heroes we have lost and celebrated the bravery and resilience of local armed service members.
LACoFD Fire Fighter Specialist Darrin Vogel, Fire Fighter Specialist David Cranke, Fire Fighter Ramon Enrique Rodriguez, and Fire Fighter Jessika Gomez received a special recognition during the event’s program for their past and current respective service.
The LACoFD’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion were also in attendance and provided event attendees with helpful emergency preparedness information and answered questions about career pathways. Retired Fire Fighter Pete Martinez also joined the festivities playing the traditional fire department bagpipe as a member of the LACoFD Pipes and Drums.
This family-friendly event also served as a resource access hub to the extensive network of service providers available to veterans in the region.
Residents seeking resources may also visit the Los Angeles County Military and Veterans Affairs website at mva.lacounty.gov.
Our Department expresses our profound gratitude to Supervisor Barger along with all veterans and the military families that support them!
