Santa Clarita, Duarte, West Hollywood, and East Los Angeles Residents Complete CERT Training 1024 682 Amelia Garcia

Throughout the month of September 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted several Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training classes throughout Los Angeles County to increase community preparedness and resilience.

Over 100 residents participated in the 20-hour Federal Emergency Management Agency CERT training classes held in the Cities of Duarte, Santa Clarita, and West Hollywood, and the unincorporated community of East Los Angeles.

After successfully completing the eight units, including a hands-on disaster drill, the LACoFD proudly presented all participants with a certificate of completion.

The LACoFD extends its gratitude to the partnering cities and communities, CERT Cadre, instructors, and administrative team, for ensuring residents are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to support themselves, their families, neighbors, and communities in the event of a disaster.
