The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in collaboration with the City of La Habra at La Habra City Hall.

From Friday, February 28, to March 2, 2025, 40 participants completed 20 hours of basic safety and life-saving skills training, including disaster preparedness, medical operations, search and rescue, fire suppression, and disaster psychology. These participants are now equipped with the necessary skills and resources to support themselves, as well as their families and neighbors, during disaster.

The Department’s remains committed to enhancing emergency preparedness training opportunities for residents and communities. Following a major disaster, first responders may be inundated with emergency requests and demands – community members may have to rely on each other for immediate first aid and life-sustaining needs.

The LACoFD’s CERT program is open to everyone 16 and older.
