On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) was proud to join fairgoers and fellow County departments at the Los Angeles County Fair in the City of Pomona for a fun-filled, multi-part celebration.
To help kick-off fair activities, Business Operations Chief Deputy Theresa Barrera participated in the morning reception with East Regional Operations Bureau Deputy Fire Chief Eleni Pappas joining local firefighters, Los Angeles County First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, fellow County departments, and others in the parade.
In addition to the carnival rides, eccentric food selections, blue ribbon competitions, music, and adorable farm animals, fairgoers had an opportunity to meet with members of the Department’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Lifeguard Division, Forestry Division, and Communications Section to receive important fire safety information and learn about the many career and youth program opportunities available.
Some of the younger fairgoers enjoyed sitting in the cab of Engine 189, learning about the different switches and inquiring whether the horn was fully functional. The “Honnnnk, honk!” reverberated along with red plastic helmets seen across every corner of the fairgrounds throughout the day.
Art Unleashed, the theme of the Fair’s 2025 edition, runs from May 2 to May 26 with the staples attendees have come to expect and enjoy, including the LACoFD Forestry Division booth, as they welcome new generations of fairgoers.
