Junior Lifeguard Cadets Complete Hybrid CERT Training 150 150 Amelia Garcia

On Saturday, June 22, 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) cadre hosted a hybrid-CERT training class for Junior Lifeguard cadets at the Lifeguard Division Manhattan Beach facility.

This CERT training class was designed using a hybrid-model, comprised of on-line and in-person training. During the in-person training, cadets participated in hands-on disaster preparedness activities, fire suppression, medical operations, search and rescue procedures, and team organization skills to ensure they are prepared for any disaster. These cadets are now equipped with the necessary skills to provide care for themselves, their families, and neighbors in the event of a disaster.

At the culmination of this CERT class, a total of 58 participants received certificates of completion for their hard-work and dedication in completing the training.  Special recognition goes to the CERT cadre and Lifeguard Division for their dedication and commitment in coordinating and managing this CERT training, as it is the first CERT class held for the Junior Lifeguard program.

The LACoFD congratulates all cadets who successfully completed this hybrid-CERT training!
