In this edition of Size-Up, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) proudly spotlights the Los Angeles County Firefighters’ Association (LACFFA).
Led by LACoFD Fire Fighter Specialist Shannon Olson, President, and Fire Captain Randall Wright, Vice President, the LACFFA is devoted to encouraging and supporting the continued advancements of the Department and its members.
“Our mission is, and will always be, to continually advance the LACoFD and its members to higher levels of training, technology, education, safety, and excellence,” said President Olson. “The work we do aims to promote and encourage training that is beneficial to the fire service and public, improve public relationships, encourage fraternal cooperation with similar organizations, and to work in cooperation the Department.”
Since its inception in 2005, the Association’s most impactful contributions are the development of FireSync, FireSync Ops, and FireSync EMS, essential applications used by Department members for training, scheduling, and communication. Not to mention, the LACFFA facilitates professional development opportunities by hosting national fire service conferences, specialized training classes, and local wellness symposiums.
From the start of a firefighter’s career to every step up the ranks, the LACFFA recognizes and uplifts its members. At each professional milestone, members are gifted commemorative items, such as rain parkas, pocketbooks, and briefcases, symbolizing their achievements.
The LACoFD is proud and expresses gratitude to the LACFFA for its innovative technology advancements and leadership in supporting the Department’s mission.
