The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) was proud to host firefighters and chief officers from the County of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald Department of Fire and Civil Protection during the week of July 13, 2025.

Located in south-west Germany, along the border of France and Switzerland, the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district is home to over 250,000 residents.

LACoFD Battalion Chief Jeremy Montgomery coordinated the nearly week-long trip with Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald District Fire Chief Mike Hengstler. Chief Montgomery facilitated several tours of various LACoFD facilities and operations, including Fire Station 110, the Air and Wildland Division, the 9-1-1 Communications Center, the Lifeguard Division, Del Valle Regional Training Center, the Technical Operations Section, and more.

The LACoFD extends its appreciation to the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald Department of Fire and Civil Protection, and thanks the German delegates who traveled over 5,000 miles to visit the Department.
