On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted the July 2024 California Contract Cities Association (CCCA) Board of Directors Meeting and Dinner at the LACoFD Cecil R. Gehr Combat Training Center in unincorporated East Los Angeles.
Held in collaboration with the County of Los Angeles Association of Chiefs and Los Bomberos de Los Angeles County, this event included many city managers and council members, County departments, the Los Angeles Hispanic Managers Association, Chicano Employees Association, along with LACoFD personnel collaborating to discuss Departmental updates as well as updates from the attending city representatives.
“The Contract Cities Association makes it possible to create a strong linkage between each local municipality and the County to maximize service delivery and enhances our relationship with those we serve in each community,” said LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone as he welcomed the audience. “As we progress with tonight’s program, I reflect on the progress we have made and challenges that lie ahead… through collaboration and open dialogue we will continue building an even brighter future with our contract cities and the communities we serve. “
This year’s event, themed “Fiesta Days,” also included information booths from the LACoFD’s Executive Support Division Public Education Unit and Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, first responder apparatus displays, a helicopter water drop demonstration, and entertainment from a local mariachi band.
The LACoFD is proud to continue fostering camaraderie with the CCCA as we believe these partnerships are meaningful for achieving our collective goals.
