On Thursday, August 21, 2025, the City of Pomona Optimist Club presented the Public Safety Award to Fire Fighter Specialist Tracy Sizemore during an award ceremony at the Metro Event Center in Downtown Pomona.
The annual event honors members of the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) and the Pomona Police Department who provide exceptional community and youth services in the region. For her work serving the residents of Pomona, Sizemore was honored with the Firefighter of the Year award.
Approximately 100 community members, regional leaders, public safety officials, family, and friends came together to celebrate the honorees. LACoFD East Regional Operations Bureau Deputy Fire Chief Eleni Pappas also took the stage to acknowledge and honor Sizemore’s devoted service to the Department and the Pomona community.
Sizemore was also recognized by the Pomona Unified School District, the City of Pomona, the County of Los Angeles, California’s 53rd State Assembly District, and the California State Senate.
“I am humbled and honored to receive this award,” Sizemore said. “The teamwork and comradery found in this profession is truly special and is something I cherish. I would be nothing without my brothers and sisters out there standing together to protect life, property and the environment.”
The LACoFD is proud to recognize Fire Fighter Specialist Sizemore for her commitment in serving the community with outstanding dedication and service.
