On Friday, June 20, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) joined the City of Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for the annual Wildfire Safety Press Conference.

Held at Towsley Canyon, LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone joined representatives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the City of Santa Clarita to share the importance of wildfire safety as summer begins. Chief Marrone educated the public on the importance of defensible space, home hardening, the Protect Genasys platform, along with the dangers of fireworks.

Local firefighters along with the LACoFD Air and Wildland Division made a special appearance, showing off their water dropping capabilities used during wildfires. Additionally, the press conference featured a display of firefighting apparatus, a public education resource booth, and a petting zoo featuring goats for families to enjoy.
