In recognition of National CPR and AED Awareness Week, June 1-7, 2025, the County of Los Angeles hosted the 13th annual Sidewalk CPR Press Conference.

Held at Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday, June 2, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency, American Heart Association, Los Angeles Fire Department, and PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital to host the annual event.

In recognition of National CPR and AED Awareness Week, June 1-7, 2025, the County of Los Angeles hosted the 13th annual Sidewalk CPR Press Conference.

LACoFD Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien was joined by community partners to share the significance of rendering Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). “This Press Conference serves as an important call to action that empowers everyone to make a difference and save a life in situations where seconds truly do matter,” said Chief O’Brien during the Press Conference.

Following the press conference, participants were taught Hands-Only CPR and obtained invaluable life-saving resources from the Department’s Training and Emergency Medical Services Bureau and Communications Division personnel.

Training is free and easy – it takes only 15 minutes to learn how to save a life! The last day of training is tomorrow, June 7, 2025.
