On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) held the third annual Retirement Recognition Ceremony to extend its appreciation to retired personnel for their commitment and service to the Department.
Taking place at the Cecil R. Gehr Training Center, Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien, members of the Executive Team, Chaplains, Honor Guard, Pipes and Drums, Association of Chiefs (AOC), Los Angeles County Fire Museum, and Peer Support were joined by family, friends, and colleagues to commemorate the retirees in attendance.
“Today’s ceremony is an opportunity for us to properly thank our retirees for their service and dedication to the residents and communities served during their careers,” Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien said. “While you have retired from the career, you never leave our ‘fire team’ – and we will always be a part of your lives.”
Paul Oyler, president of the Fire Museum, presented each retiree with a retirement challenge coin. The AOC also presented several retirees with special recognition awards to acknowledge their managerial contributions to the Department.
This event was made possible thanks to the generosity of Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014. We thank them for their continued support.
