On Sunday, January 22, 2023, more than five decades after then-toddler Alycia Jo Hernandez fell down a 15-foot-deep hole in Lomita, she was reunited with the first responders who rescued her.

This special reunion took place at the Los Angeles County Fire Museum in Bellflower.

Alycia Jo was emotional when she finally met former Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Fighters Gary Davis, Rocky Doke, John Price, and Bob Ramsted who spent nearly six hours working with construction crews to rescue and bring her to safety.

During this memorable ceremony, Alycia Jo was presented with an honorary LACoFD helmet in front of her family, friends, and Department personnel.

Alycia Jo is now a mother with four children of her own.
