On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone attended the First Responders Children’s Foundation’s (FRCF) National First Responders Day Ceremony held in Times Square in the City of New York.
In honor of National First Responders Day, the FRCF recognized the extraordinary dedication of first responders nationwide.
County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Captain Joshua Swaney was awarded the SERVPRO Natural Disaster Response Award for his role in the coordinated response to the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in January 2025. This special honor also recognized individuals from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, and Los Angeles Police Department.
The LACoFD is grateful to the FRCF for this heartfelt recognition.
A pivotal partner to first responders, the FRCF provides financial support to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty as well as families enduring significant financial hardship due to tragic circumstances. The FRCF also supports, promotes, and facilitates educational activities and programs created and operated by first responder organizations whose purpose is to benefit children or the community at large.
