The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) in partnership with the Los Bomberos de Los Angeles County observes National Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the contributions and cultural diversity of the Hispanic/Latino community.
In celebrating this month, from September 15 through October 15, 2024, the LACoFD pays tribute to the history, rich traditions, and incredible contributions of the Hispanic community this month and every other.
As shared in the recent Board motion by Supervisor Solis, the Hispanic/Latino “…population has made remarkable contributions in every sector of society, including the arts, sciences, public service, education, and business, enriching our collective experience, and shaping the future of our communities.”
As we observe Hispanic Heritage Month, this is also an opportunity to recognize the many contributions of the LACoFD Los Bomberos de Los Angeles County association. As one of many Department affinity groups, their dedication in mentoring future leaders, community service, and unity is unparallel and creates positive change and brighter futures for many community members.
The LACoFD acknowledges the impact and shared commitment of the Hispanic/Latino population in fostering inclusivity and a sense of community for the advancement of all residents in the communities throughout Los Angeles County.
May National Hispanic Heritage Month be a time of reflection, celebration, and unity.
