The County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s Command and Control Division (CCD) continued to break call volume records with professionalism and pride!

July of 2024 was the busiest month in the Department’s history with 41,341 incidents.

Most impressively, the CCD Dispatch team managed 1,737 incidents on the Fourth of July alone.  Additionally, CCD dispatchers also completed 3,966 fire resource orders for Region 1 to assist with the extreme fire conditions up and down the State of California. The CCD Los Angeles Communications Center is truly a dynamic emergency communication center.

The Fourth of July holiday proved to be a collaborative effort between firefighters and dispatchers.  Utilizing 30 dispatch personnel during the busiest period of 1900 to 0600 hours, dispatchers were able to leverage technology such as the Alert Wildfire cameras and Tablet Command to send the closest and most appropriate resources to pending calls.  Meanwhile, firefighters responded to each call and worked within an augmented response model to mitigate emergencies in an expeditious manner.  A true Department success!
