Every year, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) pays tribute to fallen firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year.

This annual ceremony honors the lives, heroism, and accomplishments of our fallen.

During the weekend of May 6 and 7, 2023, the NFFF hosted its 42nd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmittsburg, Maryland where 144 fallen firefighters were honored; 79 of whom died in 2022 and 65 who died in previous years.

Candlelight and memorial services were held to pay tribute to the fallen firefighters being added to the NFFF National Fallen Firefighters Monument, including our Department’s own Fire Captain Steven McCann who passed away in 2022.

Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone and members of the Honor Guard joined Captain MCann’s family during the memorial weekend event.
