The California Fire Foundation hosted the 22nd California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Fire departments across California gathered to recognize 36 fallen firefighters whose names were added to the California Firefighters Memorial Wall.

Members of the County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s (LACoFD’s) Wellness Section – including the Honor Guard and Chaplain’s Office – along with Pipes and Drums, Chief Deputy of Emergency Operations, Jon O’Brien, Acting Assistant Fire Chief Gerald Gonzales, and Local 1014 Board of Directors traveled to Sacramento to honor the 36 fallen firefighters including our own members below for having served with bravery and distinction.

The California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices firefighters face daily in their commitment to safeguarding the communities they serve and the strength of the fire service family.
The LACoFD would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude to the California Fire Foundation for ensuring this annual ceremony is a memorable tribute for the families, friends, and colleagues honoring the lives, heroism, and accomplishments of our fallen.
