On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was joined by the Lifeguard, Forestry, and Communications Divisions as well as the Stentorians of Los Angeles County at the 20th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival.

Held along Crenshaw Boulevard, between Obama Boulevard and Stocker Avenue, in Los Angeles, this event is known for attracting hundreds of thousands to celebrate African American/Black culture. It is the largest free, one-day festival in California.

LACoFD and Stentorians team members provided information on career opportunities, youth programs, proactive safety tips, and California native plants to plant at their homes.

In addition to the variety of food vendors, the event featured musical performances and entertainment, networking opportunities, family fun, and a host of health and educational resources.
