California State Senator Bob Archuleta and Assemblymember Lisa Calderon presented a check for $500,000 on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, to the Los Angeles County Fire Department during a special event at Fire Station 118 in the City of Industry.

Both elected officials secured much-needed funding in the State budget to help the Department complete projects related to wildfire response and prevention.

Acting Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien accepted the check on behalf of the Department.

With the funding, the Department will construct two new heli-hydrants and complete the installation of new automatic fill valves for eight portable helicopter water dip tanks.

Completing these projects enhances the Department’s to ensure rapid and immediate support when it comes to wildfire response for our air operations fleet.

These critically needed resources support quick turnarounds for our helicopters to perform water drops and prevent the growth and spread of fast-moving wildfires.
