CERT Exercise and Signal Hill CERT Class 768 1024 Isidro Armenta

More than 65 participants joined the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) regional exercise on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.  Hosted by the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD), Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the Antelope Valley CERT team, the event welcomed current CERT members to build upon, refresh, and expand their skillsets.

Participants successfully rotated through five scenarios including:

  • Triage
  • Fire/Flood
  • Lifts and Carries
  • Medical
  • Cribbing

Separately, in the City of Signal Hill, 27 residents successfully completed the 20-hour Federal Emergency Management Agency CERT training.  Held over three days, from Friday, October 3, to Sunday, October 5, 2025, participants engaged in comprehensive lessons on fire suppression, light search and rescue, triage, and the importance of teamwork.

Each participant received a certificate of completion, highlighting the successful culmination of this essential CERT training.

The LACoFD congratulates these community members for increasing their knowledge, awareness, and capacity to assist first responders during major emergencies.  Additionally, we express our gratitude to the CERT Cadre and instructors for ensuring the continued success of this vital public education program.
