The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) proudly congratulates over 70 participants who successfully completed the 20-hour Federal Emergency Management Agency Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

The LACoFD hosted three CERT trainings during August. Held over three consecutive Saturdays, from August 9, to August 23, 2025, in the City of Lancaster, the Antelope Valley CERT team, along with the LACoFD as the sponsoring agency, provided participants with in-person CERT training. On Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, a hybrid CERT training took place in Calabasas. Lastly, an in-person CERT training was held in El Monte over seven weeknights, from August 18 to August 28.

The CERT curriculum included disaster preparedness, fire suppression, medical operations, light search and rescue operations, disaster psychology, team organization, and more. To culminate each training, participants were presented with a certificate of completion.
