On Sunday, March 17, 2024, Cub Scout Pack 177 embarked on an educational adventure to Fire Station 61 in the City of Walnut. The Cub Scouts were thankful to learn about the vital work of firefighters within the community and learn important safety tips.

Approximately 20 cub scouts, in grades Kindergarten through fifth, and their accompanying adult chaperones had the opportunity to observe firsthand a day in the life of a firefighter. From donning personal protective equipment to responding to emergencies, the Cub Scouts got an up-close view of what it truly means to be a firefighter.

The attendees were inspired, with some describing the experience as a “great success” and the firefighters themselves as “cool” and “real role models for kids!”

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Fire Captain Escobedo and the entire crew at Fire Station 61 for warmly welcoming Cub Scout Pack 177. Their generosity and willingness to share their knowledge undoubtedly left a lasting impact on these young scouts.
