On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted a Metro Gold Line tabletop exercise at the City of Glendora’s Emergency Operations Center. This exercise follows the Metro Gold Line multi-company drill held in the City of San Dimas on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

As part of the tabletop exercise, first responders joined with local city officials and Metro Gold Line personnel in a simulated drill involving a train fire with approximately 100 riders on board with multiple injuries. Fire Department personnel delivered size-up and follow-up reports, established incident command to manage and coordinate response efforts, ordered and assigned resources, setup multi-casualty incident (MCI) procedures, and more.

LACoFD Division 2 resources participating in the tabletop exercise included battalion chiefs from Battalion 2 and 16, along with firefighters assigned to Fire Stations 64, 85, 86, 151, and 153.

Following the tabletop exercise, LACoFD firefighters shared emergency procedures with the group along with potential emergency incidents and challenges that may arise from the new Metro Gold Line extension.

The LACoFD appreciates the collaboration with fellow first responder agencies and Metro Gold Line team members to plan and be prepared to respond in the event of an MCI event.
