On Saturday, September 28, 2019, California State Senator Susan Rubio, South El Monte Mayor Gloria Olmos, Mayor Pro Tem Manuel Acosta and Council Member Richard Angel presented a recognition plaque to firefighters at the 13th Annual Fire Station 90 Appreciation Day.

The yearly event allows city officials and members of the community to show their support and thank firefighters for their dedicated service. All guests enjoyed a hearty pancake breakfast, along with face painting, station tours and Fire Explorer demonstrations.

At the Hermosa Beach Pier, Los Angeles County firefighters, lifeguards and local law enforcement officers were also recognized by the City of Hermosa Beach and the Hermosa View & Valley Parent Teach Organization at the second annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 28.

Members of the Department provided information about beach safety, Sidewalk CPR and coordinated future Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes.
