Empowering Communities: LACoFD Hosts CERT Training in Artesia 1024 681 Layla Romero

Over the course of three days – Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17, 2024 – the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) led a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training class at Artesia Park in the City of Artesia.

This well attended CERT class hosted more than 50 participants who successfully completed the 20-hour Federal Emergency Management Agency training program.

These dedicated community members are now equipped with essential skills and tools to care for themselves, their families, neighbors, and coworkers during a disaster.  Participants gained valuable knowledge in disaster preparedness, basic first aid, fire safety, light search and rescue, and more.  CERT trainings and their members play a vital role in enhancing the resilience of their local and surrounding communities.

The LACoFD extends its gratitude to the City of Artesia for their partnership and support, along with the CERT instructors and administrative team who led this training class.

Congratulations to all the graduates and thank you for your commitment to community safety!
