Grateful Cardiac Arrest Patient Reunites with LACoFD Dispatcher Adam Carrillo

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, Brent Hill and his family visited the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Dispatch Center to personally thank Fire Dispatcher Nicholas Colbert for helping to save his life.

Last summer, Hill – a firefighter paramedic from South Pasadena – suffered cardiac arrest.  He has since fully recovered.

Colbert recalls the incident in July 2019 and knew it was a serious call when he heard a scream. He credits Hill’s wife, Kathleen, who performed CPR for over six minutes until firefighters from Fire Station 111 arrived to assist: “(She) was excellent at listening to questions and instructions, and she is absolutely a huge part of why Mr. Hill is still alive today.”
