LACoFD Battles the Tick Fire

LACoFD Battles the Tick Fire 150 150 Adam Carrillo

On Thursday, October 24, 2019, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) responded to a fast-moving fire near the communities of Agua Dulce and Canyon Country.

The Tick Fire began in the early afternoon and rapidly grew to burn more than 3,000 acres by evening.  With structures threatened, mandatory evacuations were ordered for thousands of affected homeowners.

As of Friday afternoon, October 25, 2019, the Tick Fire has burned 4,000+ acres with 5% containment.  The LACoFD is in unified command with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
