On Saturday, October 19, 2024, more than 350,000 event goers gathered along Crenshaw Boulevard, between Obama Boulevard and Stocker Avenue, in Los Angeles for the 19th Annual Taste of Soul family festival.

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Executive Support Division, Lifeguard Division, local firefighters, Stentorians, and Explorers took part in the festival’s County Pavilion. Attendees took home information on career opportunities, youth programs, practical seasonal safety tips, and most importantly, learned hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Interviews for available job opportunities within various County Departments, were also conducted as part of the County Pavilion.

County of Los Angeles Second District Supervisor, Holly Mitchell, and Department of Human Resources Director of Personnel, Lisa Garrett, were joined by LACoFD Deputy Fire Chief Robert Harris, Assistant Fire Chief Alvin Brewer, and Battalion Chief Kevin Price at the event.

This free, one-day street festival featured food, live entertainment, family fun, and an abundance of career, health, and educational resources.
