On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) was presented with a recognition plaque by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) at LACoFD Headquarters in East Los Angeles.
This plaque presentation highlighted the exceptional work of the Department’s involvement in ABC7’s annual
charitable-giving campaign, Spark of Love.
LASD Deputies David Smith, Jamey Burklow, Anttanisha Moton, David Corral, Paul Kester, and Kari Mercer, Lieutenants Lucas Darland and Ramon Montenegro, and Sergeant Tammy Carney presented the plaque to LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone, Fire Captain Sheila Kelliher, and members of the Executive team.
Chief Marrone expressed his gratitude for the plaque and recognition of the Department’s participation in Spark of Love.
For many years, the LACoFD has gone above and beyond to collect toys and sports equipment to donate to children and teens all over Los Angeles County during the holiday season.
Last year alone, the Department collected and donated over 30,000 new toys and sports equipment. Over the past 31 years, nearly eleven million donations have been donated throughout Southern California thanks to this holiday campaign.
The LACoFD is proud to partner with ABC7, various public safety agencies, and the community to bring smiles to thousands of families each year!
