Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby attended a campaign kick-off to support the launch of Dr. Lucy Jones’ Community Resiliency Pilot Program at Huntington Park City Hall on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

The goal of the campaign is to increase resiliency by assembling a community cohort and leading them through the “Seven Steps for Community Resilience.”  The project encourages community leaders to work together to seamlessly recover from emergencies and major incidents.

Dr. Lucy Jones earned her Ph.D. in Geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a renowned leader in earthquake research. She is the founder of the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society and serves as a research associate at the Seismological Laboratory of Cal Tech.
