The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) rang in the new year with record-breaking emergency calls! January 2022 was the Department’s busiest month of all time.

The Department’s Communications Center recorded nearly 40,500 incident calls. This was the first time the Department went above 40,000 calls in month – and also the first time the calls averaged more than 1,300 responses each day.

The LACoFD also had its third busiest day of all time, reaching a total of 1,643 responses on January 22.

The following are the statistics for dispatched incidents:

JANUARY 2021 = 37,235
JANUARY 2022 = 40,454 (+8%)
DAILY RUN AVERAGE = 1,304
DAILY AVERAGE PEAK HOUR = 12:00 P.M. TO 1:00 P.M.
