In this edition of Size-Up, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) spotlights the recent appointment and career milestone achieved by Amber Sturdivant in the Human Resources Division.
LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone made an official announcement regarding the appointment of Amber Sturdivant to the position of Division Manager for the Human Resources Division (HRD), effective Friday, August 23, 2024.
Amber has been an integral part of the Los Angeles County workforce since November 2016, with over seven years of experience with the LACoFD. Over the years, she has made significant contributions in her career pathway in both the Professional Performance Section, Employee Relations Division, and most recently in the HRD. “Amber brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as a fresh perspective to the HRD,” said Fire Chief Marrone. “I am confident under Amber’s experience, the HRD will meet the needs of the Department.”
A proud graduate of the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, Amber brings a high level of expertise and insight that blends academia with practical experience in her new position. This educational background equips her with the legal knowledge to effectively navigate the complexities of County operations.
With performance and leave management experience that Amber acquired during her tenure with the Department of Health Services and the Department of Human Resources, her skill sets have expanded making her capable of handling diverse challenges and other organizational complexities.
The LACoFD is proud to have Amber lead the Human Resources Division where her expertise and contributions are highly valued and appreciated.
