In honor of National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 19-25, 2019), members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) were recognized for their life-saving contributions in the community.  This year’s theme is “Beyond the Call”.

On Friday, May 24, Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina hosted a recognition luncheon for EMS Week where LACoFD Fire Fighter Paramedic Jackson Reich received the Paramedic of the Year Award.

The next day, Saturday, May 25, California State Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (52nd District) concluded EMS Week by recognizing the life-saving skills of the Department’s East County Air Squad, along with a CARE ambulance team and the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s trauma team.

“Thank you for accepting the responsibility and doing it with courage,” said Assemblymember Rodriguez whose district includes the City of Pomona.
