The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Technical Operations Section proudly welcomes four new members to the California Task Force 2 (CA-TF2) and USA-2 K-9 Program.

Fire Fighter Alexis Miller, K-9 partner Hawthorne, and Fire Fighter Arby Fields, and K-9 partner Greta eagerly joins the Department’s urban search and rescue team. These teams are expertly trained to locate live victims in collapsed buildings and will be ready to deploy with CA-TF2/USA-02 in the near future.

To enhance and further maintain their lifesaving skills, the K-9 teams receive their initial and continuous training from the renowned Search Dog Foundation.

Based in the County of Los Angeles, CA-TF2 is a Federal Emergency Management Agency Urban Search and Rescue Task Force sponsored by the LACoFD. As one of two task forces, this team collaborates with U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance for international disaster response.

The CA-TF2 and USA-02 K-9 Program focuses on search and rescue operations. It includes highly trained fire fighters and their skilled
K-9 partners. Adding these new members improves the Division’s emergency response capabilities.
