Each year, on October 28, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) honors the bravery and dedication of first responders in recognition of National First Responders Day.

The LACoFD proudly upholds the values of this significant recognition, as all first responders play a critical role in providing emergency services for the communities entrusted in their care and courageously put their lives on the line to save another.

Every first responder, no matter their specialty, give their all on and off duty.

“This day is a reminder of the dedicated, selfless service and sacrifice that first responders make to protect lives, the environment, and property,” said LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone. “During daily operations, emergencies, community events, and everywhere in between, LACoFD first responders go above and beyond the call of duty.”

National First Responders Day, officially passed in 2019, honors firefighters, police officers, emergency medical service providers, paramedics, and dispatchers.
