Picerne Family Foundation Awards LACoFD with Thermal Imaging Cameras WPPRO Administrator

On Friday, May 10, 2019, the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Fire Stations 30 and 35 in Cerritos each received a thermal imaging camera from the Picerne Family Foundation.  A small recognition ceremony was held at FS 30 to commemorate the generous donation.

A thermal imaging camera’s infrared rays can provide a picture of heat sources to locate victims during extreme fire conditions with zero visibility.  The life-saving technology will help increase the ability of firefighters to save trapped victims.

After months of hard work and dedication by the Department in preparing and applying for the grant, the Picerne Family Foundation awarded the grant.

A representative from the office of the Fourth District County Supervisor and Chair Janice Hahn, along with Cerritos mayor Naresh Solanki, each presented a scroll of appreciation and recognition to the Picerne Family Foundation as a token of their appreciation for the equipment.

This donation was made possible through the Foundation’s “Give Back Program”.
