On Thursday, June 13, 2019, the Pomona Optimist Club held its Respect for Public Safety Dinner at Mr. D’s Diner.  The annual event honors members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Pomona Police Department.

Members of the Optimist Club thanked Pomona’s public safety team for saving lives, keeping the city safe and treating the public with dignity and respect.

Division 8 proudly nominated Fire Captain Adam Salas from Fire Station 182 as the recipient of the Pomona Optimist Club’s 2019 Public Safety Award.

Captain Salas is a 20-year member of the Department and has been serving the City of Pomona for four years.  He also serves as a member of the Honor Guard, representing the Department at various ceremonies, funerals and events.

Over the years, firefighters in Battalion 15 have partnered with the Pomona Optimist Club, supporting programs that enhance the lives of the city’s youth, such as Project Santa Clothes and a tea event for college-bound high school seniors.
