Public Safety Dock Dedication Ceremony

Public Safety Dock Dedication Ceremony

Public Safety Dock Dedication Ceremony 1024 682 Isidro Armenta

On Monday, September 28, 2026, Los Angeles County Second District Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell was joined by County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone, Sheriff Robert Luna, Department of Public Works Director Mark Pestrella, and LACOLA President Jordan Stephens to dedicate the newly renovated public safety dock facility in Marina del Rey.

Supported by $18 million in Los Angeles funding, this new facility serves as the water interface station for the Fire Department’s Lifeguard Division, known as Baywatch, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Harbor Patrol.

This facility replaces a smaller and older station structure. The site now boasts dedicated berthing for fireboats and patrol vessels, on-dock emergency response structures with improved office space and living quarters, and heavy equipment storage to support 24-hour emergency marine operations.

The LACoFD extends its gratitude to the Board of Supervisors, Chief Executive Office, Construction and Maintenance Division , and all collaborating partners for making this lifesaving project possible.
