Regional Fire Agencies’ Outlook on 2022 Fire Season 1024 683 LACoFD Communications Section

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) partnered with fellow Southern California fire agencies to host the annual fire season outlook news conference. This year, the event took place at LACoFD Fire Camp 2 in La Cañada-Flintridge.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby was joined by representatives from the United States Forest Service, CAL FIRE, California Office of Emergency Services, the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management, and the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

These public safety organizations cautioned the public of a potentially hazardous fire season due to extreme drought conditions throughout California, and encouraged residents to create defensible space around their homes to combat the dangers of wildfires in fire-prone areas.
