The Material Management Division has created and launched a new webpage on the Department’s intranet site to house all the Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
The SDS lists the information related to occupational safety and health when various substances and products are used.
A manufacturer publishes SDS to provide any potential hazards or cautions related to the use of its products.
For example, if a product is misused or accidentally spills, any Department member can now easily look up its SDS on the website and receive more information, including chemical compositions, burn temperatures, and more.
With product search capability, the SDS webpage provides a comprehensive listing of all SDS and is separated into ten facility categories, including Air Operations, Fire Camps, Construction and Maintenance, Fire Shop/Fleet, Fire Stations, Forestry, Health Hazmat, Lifeguards, Pacoima Warehouse, and Technical Operations.
The Department is required to have SDS readily available and consistently updated for all products in use and on site.
Accessible via mobile devices, the webpage is available by clicking on the following link: http://fireiis/Allforms/SDS.asp.
