On Friday, March 24, 2023, a re-dedication ceremony of “The Aviator” sculpture was held at the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Barton Heliport in Pacoima to honor the 30-year anniversary of the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Paramedic (FFPM) Jeffrey M. Langley.

The sculpture was originally created in remembrance of the life and service of FFPM Langley who made the ultimate sacrifice 30 years ago on March 30, 1993.

FFPM Langley tragically lost his life when he fell from a helicopter while responding to an emergency medical incident in Malibu.

He was an instrumental team member of Air Squad 8 and made significant contributions to rescue operations.

The Department will never forget the life and legacy of FFPM Jeffrey Langley.
