During the month of May, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) rolled up its doors for the annual Fire Service Day events!
Each year, the LACoFD welcomes community members to meet and engage with their local firefighters, enjoy fire apparatus displays, learn about safety and emergency services provided in our communities, as well as information for career and youth programs.
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, community members had the opportunity to visit and tour all LACoFD fire stations.
That same day, the LACoFD North Regional Operations Bureau held its Regional Fire Service Day event at Fire Station 129 in the City of Lancaster. This fun-filled day welcomed hundreds of guests of all ages to a variety of activities such as safety demonstrations featuring urban search and rescue (USAR) team, a helicopter water-drop, a rescue simulation with air operations crew members descending mid-air, Hands-Only CPR instruction, and much more!
That next weekend, the LACoFD East Regional Operations Bureau, in partnership with the City of Bellflower and the Los Angeles County Fire Museum, hosted its Regional Fire Service Day event on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Held at the Fire Museum in the City of Bellflower, hundreds of guests toured the museum, witnessed a helicopter flyover, interacted with local firefighters, and enjoyed live entertainment, various activities, and many booths with resources and information. Special guest appearances by retired LACoFD Fire Chiefs P. Michael Freeman, and Daryl L. Osby, along with firefighters from LA Fire and Rescue.
The LACoFD would like to thank the community services liaisons, Explorers, partnering cities, public safety collaborators, and the community for helping make these events memorable.
If you missed the past events, join us at the upcoming Central Region Fire Service Day event on Saturday, May 25, at Fire Station 171 in the City of Inglewood!
